NEW: Simple PAT Electronic Giving

Church leaders heard our suggestions!

At Vision Project and other gatherings, YAs have offered ideas to members of the First Presidency and Presiding Bishopric for creating financial giving methods that will fit into our lifestyles.  Many of us asked for a simpler system for automatic withdrawal.

And now it’s here!

Lots of us like the convenience of contributing to Local and World ministries via pre-authorized monthly checking account transfers (PAT).  Many YAs requested that this process be all-electronic—no more printing and mailing in forms and canceled checks!  So, all-electronic PAT is now up and running for contributors in the USA.

Just set it up, and it takes care of itself every month.  Now you’re a consistent generous financial contributor who helps make mission happen all over the world!

Good question, Meghan. I asked the Presiding Bishopric for more info. Their response:
The Congregational Financial Officer is responsible for ordering offering envelopes for the people in their congregations. If an individual no longer wants to receive envelopes, they need to let their CFO know to take them off the list.
Even though someone may sign up to use the PAT option, we are still not encouraging people to stop envelopes. Even if you give through PAT, you can always contribute additionally through offering envelopes. It allows the freedom to give even more. While the PAT offers a consistent way of giving, it doesn’t have to be the only way of giving.
Just as an FYI…If a person does ask the CFO to take them off the envelope list, it will take at least two months for that change to take effect.
