This time of year (in North America) brings many celebrations and a huge mixture of emotions: times of transition, dreaming, goal setting, and sometimes fear about the unknown for many young adults in our lives and church communities.

There are those just graduating high school and leaving their homes for maybe the first time, becoming independent adults. There are those who have just finished their university degrees and now sit with their whole future in front of them. Some with big plans they are moving on to, some with big questions confronting them, like “now what?”.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to all those embarking on their next step!

“The challenges and opportunities are momentous. Will you remain hesitant in the shadows of your fears, insecurities, and competing loyalties? Or will you move forward in the light of your divinely instilled call and vision?” – Doctrine and Covenants 164:9e

When stepping into a new phase of life, we often look for guidance from others to help us on our way.

Here are a number of articles, videos and words of wisdom from various sources that may inspire the next part of your journey (and may be good reminders for all of us). Choose for yourself, what is true for you.

If you’ll be attending a college or university in the United States, you may be interested in connecting with young adult groups in your area or finding a campus ministry program at your school.

If you have young adults facing this transition time in their life, this is a great time to offer your support to them. Make sure to get their contact info if they will be moving on to a new school experience or even for a new job. Keep in touch with them and offer support from your community from a far! It will mean more than you will know.
